Make your Goals this 2012 mejoSmart!

Hi guys. It’s the 2nd day of 2012. How are you? Well, I know most of the working people have pasok na. Are you one of them? Well, if you are, wala talagang choice, we all need to work eh, para may pang celebrate ulit ng Christmas and new Year next year, haha, all you need is to have fun while working. And for those na wala pang pasok like me, err well, let’s be thankful that we can still sleep. Haha. But honestly, I work at home naman so no worries on the usual cramming choochoo.

Pag New Year, uso daw ang new year resoultions, pero does is still apply to you? Like seriously? do you follow them ba talaga by heart? Haha.

Well for me. Isang malaking I don’t.

Like I really don’t want to make any New Year resolutions. You may ask, why Art? why? hmmm kase. It’s like uhm… . limiting yourself on what may or can or will (ayan lahat na sinabi ko) happen to you the whole year. Sometimes you just have to let it flow like a clean river, oh wag Pasig river ha. dirty yon!

Let it flow lang na derederetso, you can never really masterplan your year, kahit Hermes pa ang planner mo. Don’t forget that the only constant in this world and life na rin is change! Ayan, ang bonggang bonggang word na change. Syempre lahat magbabago. Haha.

Wag na mag-set ng unrealistic goals guys. Instead, make SMART Goals, haha ayan parang back to work or back to school and peg. Review nga natin yan.

S for Specific - Dapat alam mo talaga yung goals mo for the year. Not that you’re making a resolution lang because it’s a cliche or your friends or doing it. Puede rin namang wala kang resolution. Remember the very famous saying, Don’t fix it if it’s not broke. So if bongga naman ang buhay mo, like me. Chos. Wag na magdrama, if you don’t feel like not making a resolution then it’s really not your obligation to make one. Hehe.

M for Measurable - Sabi nga, you can not improve what you can not measure. Gaano man ka abstract ang goals mo for the year, kailangan measurable pa rin sya. You might ask paano magiging measurable ang mga abstract na goals. Here’s an example, kunwari goal mo this year is pumayat. So you need to take measurement of your vital statistics like every week, you can also take photos. You know, with so much affordable technology nowadays it’s no longer a problem to document everything. Ang maganda kasi pag namemeasure, you can always have a reference for improvement.

A for Attainable or Achievable - Ayan, guys, this is very self explanatory. Don’t make resolutions or goals that feels like you need to punch the moon (suntok sa buwan) LOL #waley haha. Even if laging sinasabi ng mga feelingera na mga stars daw Dream Big, Dream big, pero kailangan achievable yan and kadikit nyan ang letter R

R for realistic - Syempre guys, if your goal is like reaching for the stars, then you might wanna change your goals. Hehe. Kailangan nako lagi tayong naka apak sa katotohanan. Let’s go back with our example na goal na pumayat. So halimbawa ang goal mo is to lose like 100 pounds in one month, well you might want to join the Biggest Loser. It’s not all about the pagkabongga ng goal, but kung gaano ba sya makatotohanan to be achieved.

and lastly

T for Time-bound - I know most of us are setting goals like for 2012 in general, but as proven by my observations, though wala pa namang studies, sige I’ll look for one. Hindi sya talaga na-aachieve. Lol, true right? Because, nagiging lax or petix tayo when making goals na super generic ang time frame. So here’s a tip, instead of setting the goal to lose 10 pounds in 2012, why not make the goal na by January 31, 2011 I’ll lose 2 pounds. O diba, hindi sya masyadong paglose pero madali. So come Feb, gagawa ka uli ng bago mong resolution.

Parang monthly installment lang sa credit card, especially when you’re buying something mahal na hindi mo kayang bayaran ng straight. You have to opt for a monthly installment para mas madali. Easier to pay, and hindi mabigat sa loob and sa bulsa.

Ang mabigat na goal, gagaan din yan if hahatihatiin every month. So instead of plotting your goal for the whole year, why not plot your goal every month. Mejo new sya na approach but it’ll work. Trust me guys.

I’ve already proven that goal, it’s kinda tricky at first kasi magaan, madali lang sya i-achieve pero trust me may times na mag plaplateau sya and there’s gonna be months na mahihirapan kang i-achieve ito.

Pero, if you’ll look at it since monthly goal lang naman. Pak yan. Ma-aachieve mo pa rin yan. You just need to have the guts and the matching effort to obtain it.

So keri ba ang mag monthly installment na New Year’s resolution instead of isang bonggang yearly?

You can do that. Hehe and as an example, here’s my 1st installment of resoultions/goals for January 2012.

I divided them in various categories para hollistic din naman ang goals ko.

Social/Blog - Make 2 new covers here on my site this January. Wala lang I believe music keeps me alive and breathing so there. I’ll really post atleast 2 covers this January so watch out for that.

Career - Get an outstanding on my quartertly evals this month. Yes appraisal month ko for January so wish me all the best

Health - Drink softdrinks one a week lang. And sana 4 times lang ako kakain ng fastfood this month. yun lang wag madaming goals. Mahirap ang overloaded.

Travel - Make an out of town trip this month. Most chances, Baguio. yes mejo 80 percent sure na sya for this month so I think achieve na yon.

Romance - Hopefully once for this month. Lol So alam nyo na yun. Hehe.

So go ahead, make your installment resolutions and goals na rin for this year and get greater results!!

Happy New year y’all!!!!
